Though I was still in my 10s, I certainly experienced some of the things Kim Ji-young experienced.

I got angry when some characters in the book say stereotypes things that they think women should do. Those lines are so familiar that I can’t ignore. I was most angry at men who don’t understand the hardship of being a mother and what comes with pregnancy. They have no knowledge about what is like to be a woman, yet they still manage to smack women. I was also angry at the statement that some people think girls can’t complain if they got touched when girls don’t dress “properly.” People who do dirty things should be judge, not girls who dress pretty.

I myself also dislike all the stereotypes go around with gender. For example, pink represent girl and blue represent boy. I also feel sorry for Kim Ji-young that she has to give up her work for her kids. This reminds me of my mother as she also does the same thing for me. Mom, I am really sorry.

I really like the book as it shows people the truth of being a woman and a mother. People really need to appreciate women.

I encourage all people to read this book. If you are a woman, you can resonate with the book. If you are a man, you can get to learn the truth of being a woman.
